about

Written after the love of his life randomly appeared in his newsfeed whilst doom scrolling one dreary night during the great Melbourne lockdown of 2020, “My Whole Life” is a celebration of finding love when you least expect it, the beauty and randomness of life and how one simple act of self-acceptance can lead to everything you were ever looking for.

This beautiful, picturesque soundscape draws upon elements of classic soul, modern folk and alternative music to build a world full of magic and awe. With soaring strings (recorded with an 8-piece ensemble at The Base Studios Melbourne), and WAMALA’s achingly beautiful vocals and harmonies, “My Whole Life” lends itself to the great halls of artists like Daniel Johns and Damien Rice where fearless imagination and vulnerability takes centre stage.

lyrics

Find it hard
It’s hard to find
A peaceful heart
A quiet mind
All the stars
Heavens eyes
Only us

Feel the wait
It feels so slow
The time it takes
To be free of love
And maybe it’s fate
But it’s not enough
Waited my whole life
To find us

Take your time
Settle down
Get too high
You'll hit the ground
Good advice
It is sound
But not this time

Feel the weight
It feels so slow
The time it takes
To be free of love
And maybe its late
But it’s more than enough
Waited my whole life
To find us
